Christian Pérez According to the information provided by the company Sociedad de Servicios y Asesorias Recirculación Chile Ltda. to the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), this project considers a 19,152 m2 facility for all the production stages and a 1,672 m2 experimental facility unit. The project implies a hatchery area with a maximum production capacity of 6.4 million eggs in 4 annual batches. Meanwhile, the room for first feeding is intended for fish up to 4gr and would have a maximum production capacity of 6 million fish per year. In the room for the fry stage and up to 15gr, the company expects to produce a maximum of 5 million fish per year, as well as 4.7 million pre-smolts of 60gr in the pre-smolt area. Likewise, the company expects to have up to 4.3 million smolts in the room for smolts and a 3.7 million post-smolts in the corresponding area. Finally, this project is expected to farm fish at a maximum stocking density of 48Kg/m3 and only use vaccines and no antibiotics or chemicals as sanitary tool. The construction of this facility would start in early April 2015.
