- Our investment in Chile makes us complete as the main supplier of specialized information and news provider for the international salmon industry, says publisher Gustav-Erik Blaalid in a comment. In 2010 Norsk Fiskeoppdrett launched its first edition in Spanish in Chile. This year SalmonXpert will be published in six editions in Chile. It is five years since Norsk Fiskeoppdrett launched the first English-language edition, Fishfarmingxpert, which since 2007 has been published in six issues annually. The web site fishfarmingxpert.com was launched at the same time. Salmonxpert.cl is the last shot of the trunk. Blaalid emphasizes that all three magazines togehter with the three web sites have unique content.

- Salmonxpert has been very well received in Chile. The industry calls for more specialized information and we can deliver it, says the editor of Salmonxpert, Christian Perez. He has worked for Norsk Fiskeoppdrett since 2008 and has extensive experience as a journalist from the aquaculture industry in Chile. He now manages the office in Puerto Montt which has four employees.

In Norway, Norsk Fiskeoppdrett has been published since 1976. In spite of all the structural changes, Norsk Fiskeoppdrett has sustained as the main provider of specialized information to the industry.

- We are now experiencing a resurgence of interest for the magazine, especially among students. It bodes well for the future, says editor Paul Mugaas Jensen. He is also editor of kyst.no, which has had a steady increase in numbers of readers especially the past year. - After all, we are now the largest news site for fish farmingindustry in Norway, he says. Mugaas Jensen believes that this increase is due to an increased focus on editorial resources and quality content. These days Norsk Fiskeoppdrett are looking for both a financial journalist and a technology journalist. - Along with the focus on the biological field, economy and technology are important areas for the industry, says Pål Jensen Mugaas who has a master degree in fisheries biology.

- I think the magazine format will have a longer life than newspapers, but we look at digital platforms as futuristic and exciting. Our first website was launched in 1997. Now we discuss how we can charge for content of our web pages, says Gustav-Erik Blaalid.
