Slight price decrease in the US
This represents a 0.5 per cent (2 cent) decrease compared to the price seen in the previous week, while it is 18.7 per cent lower than in the same week of 2014 (US$ 5.09). However, it is 0.2 per cent higher than the same week of 2013 (US$ 4.13).
According to the weekly report published by SalmonEx, the Brazilian market price experienced a slight increase. Fish of 10-12lb (~4.5-5.4kg) reached US$ 5.86/kg, 3 cents higher than the previous week.
In the Japanese market, the price of coho salmon went up ¥ 5 while the price of trout had a drop of ¥ 10. The first averaged ¥ 580 (US$ ~4.87)/kg, while the second sold for ¥ 755 (US$ ~6.33)/kg.
