Christian Pérez According to an interview published in the financial journal Diario Financiero, Mr Delgado said that most of the Chilean salmon companies will barely break even in their Q2 reports, although he thinks that there is a high salmon price cycle ahead, long enough to significantly contribute in the companies' robustness. Regarding the increased production costs in Chile, he commented that there are still several new regulations recently being implemented and it will take some time before the Chilean salmon industry finds out what efficiencies help reducing costs. He also commented he is optimistic regarding the sanitary situation. He stressed that the control of SRS and sea lice are of first priority for everyone and he appreciated the collaborative work done between companies so far. "When all companies coordinate treatments against SRS and sea lice at the same time and under equal conditions, they obtain good results. Companies are now realizing that the sanitary coordination through the Authority is a good business," he said.
