
Scots broodstock escape
On July 24th, 35 salmon broodfish of an average weight of 9kg (28 months of age) escaped from the Scottish Salmon Company’s Bagh Chlann Neill site in North Uist, according to escape statistics published by the Scottish Government.
The cause of the escape incident was not listed.
So far in 2014, there have been seven breaches of containment at salmon farms in Scotland and one trout escape incident.
