Salmones Pacific Star signs its agreement with the banks

The debt restructuring establishes a grace period of 30 months and that the company shares will remain as a guarantee. This agreement would have been reached with 8 banks according to La Tercera; amongst these are numbered BCI, Banco de Chile, Santander and Scotiabank.

Nowadays, Salmones Pacific Star is mainly a Coho salmon producer with US$ 18.8 millions exported during this first semester representing a 32% downfall in comparison with 2008 figures and an expected production of 13,000 gross tons for this year.

Regarding to Atlantic salmon and as to weather farm it or not, Pedro Hurtado said that it will be taken up again within a sanitary scenario safer than the current one. "With tested vaccines, established sanitary zones and the expected new regulation" he added.
