Salmones Friosur to invest millions in Aysén

Close to US$10 million is what Salmones Friosur plans to invest in the same region where it lost millions following the Aysén earthquake. The company plans to install four new intensive production sites in the Aysén region. Each farming concession is expected produce 35 tons for a total annual production of 140 tons, besides the approximate 120 tons already produced from the other six farming concessions already in the region. According to the Estrategia.cl, Salmones Friosur is also involved in the commercial harvests of crab and sea urchin, and loco – the non-filter feeding mollusc native to Chile and similar to abalone.
