Salmones Friosur purchases Landes Fish Farming
Salmones Friosur has purchased Landes Fish Farming in US$ 36 million after a negotiation period that lasted for around 4 months.
José Luis del Río, president of Salmones Friosur, explained that this purchase is a sign of confidence they have in the development and viability of the Chilean salmon industry, despite the difficulties currently faced by the sector. "Those conditions needed for this industry to consolidate are given only today, which is the only way to compete in the demanding global salmon market," he said.
Meanwhile, Joachim Wessel, general manager of the company, commented that "this operation seeks to grasp the benefits from those complementary and important synergies between both companies, whose development is located in the 11th Region (Aysén) in both cases," he concluded.
