Besides, Salmones Camanchaca has posted Ebitda of US$ 7.4 million in the first six months of this year. This result compares positively with the negative Ebitda obtained by the company in the first half-year of 2010 (US$ -8.5 million).

In other results, the company produced 7,375 tonnes (wfe) of Rainbow trout in the period, which shows the comeback of Camanchaca to the salmon production, after the crisis faced by the entire Chilean salmon industry due to the ISA virus.

Ricardo García, general manager of Camanchaca, commented that “these improvements in our salmon division are real and tangible. Besides, they are in line with the promises we made to our shareholders 9 months ago”.

In its Q2 report, Ricardo García explains that this positive situation in the salmon division has also been seen in the performance of fish in the farming sites of Camanchaca at the sea, with results in survival rates and FCRs far better than expected. “The great performance of our fish this year will positively impact our harvests of Atlantic salmon starting on the last week of September,” he said.
