The creation of a new Advising Board was one of the key reasons for the assembly, due to a growing awareness that salmon industry suppliers are under-represented within the Association. The results of the meeting were as follows: A new Advising Board was created, composed of 22 members, 17 of whom represent salmon companies and the remaining 5 are industry supplier companies. This new Board will inform Association members of the work efforts and effectiveness of SalmonChile on a bimonthly basis, and suggest lines of action for the Directive Board. A modification of the Directive Board, which was determined by the new Advising Board resulted in the designation of five members: César Barros, who has been serving as the Association president, José Gago from PescaChile, Víctor Hugo Puchi from Empresas AquaChile, Francisco Ariztía from Mainstream, and Torben Peterson from Marine Harvest. The duration period for the Board members is two years with the possibility of re-election, and assigned positions of these five members will be determined in the following Directive Board meeting.
