Salmon supplier celebrates employee ownership

The ‘Successful Succession’ event – taking place on July 3 in Alness – is one of a number of events being held across the UK to celebrate Employee Ownership Day.

Aquascot supplies Waitrose with a wide range of different products, from whole fish and salmon and trout fillets for the fresh fish counter, to pre-packed value-added products.

Inspired by key customer Waitrose, Aquascot’s decision to move to the employee ownership model in 2008 not only served as a succession solution but also helped to root the business in the Highlands.

Attendees at the event – the first in a series - will hear from Aquascot chairman and CDS ambassador Dennis Overton and take a tour of the factory.

Overton said: “Since making the move to employee ownership, the business has continued to grow and our results show we made the right decision.

“We look forward to welcoming business owners and professional advisers to Aquascot on EO Day and hopefully they will leave with some food for thought.”
