Christian Pérez The average price of US$ 3.72 per pound (US$ ~8.20/kg) in week 50 represents a 0.8 per cent increase compared to the previous week. It is also 23.1 per cent lower than the price observed in the same week of 2013 (US$ 4.84). However, it is 13.8 per cent above that seen in the same week of 2012 (US$ 3.27). According to the weekly report published by SalmonEx, the Brazilian market went up in the past week. The size 10-12lb (~4.5-5.4kg), being the most representative, reached US$ 4.70/kg, 3 cents higher than the previous week. In the Japanese market, the price of Coho and trout had a little fall. The first reached ¥ 710 (US$ ~5.94)/kg, 10 yen lower than the previous week, while the latter fetched ¥ 765 (US$ ~6.40)/kg, 25 yen lower than the previous week. *C+F: cost and freight.
