
Salmon harvests increased 53% as of April
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows a 58.9% increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 29,637 tonnes to 47,107 tonnes; a 23,3% increase in the Rainbow trout harvests to 50,421 tonnes; and a 134,4% increase in the Coho salmon harvests to 30,837 tonnes.
Regarding local roe stocks, they totalized 164.9 million units in April: 53.6% of Atlantic salmon eggs, 19.0% of Rainbow trout eggs and 27.3% of Coho salmon eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 59 million as of April, separated in 71.6% of Rainbow trout eggs and 28.4 % of Atlantic salmon eggs.
