
Salmon harvests increased 51% in the first half-year
A comparison of results itemized by specie shows a 71.8% increase in the Atlantic salmon harvests from 45,144 tonnes to 77,550 tonnes; an 18.2% increase in the Rainbow trout harvests to 67,700 tonnes; and a 122.5% increase in the Coho salmon harvests to 30,597 tonnes.
Regarding local roe stocks, they totalized 381.1 million units as of June: 53.3% of Atlantic salmon eggs, 14.6% of Rainbow trout eggs, 31.8% of Coho salmon eggs and 0.3% of King salmon eggs. Meanwhile, roe imports totalized 66.8 million as of June, separated in 69.6% of Rainbow trout eggs and 30.4 % of Atlantic salmon eggs.
