Salmon exports to Taiwan increased by 80%

Christian Pérez According to a study recently published by the Export Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ProChile), the returns from Chilean exports of salmonids to Taiwan totalized US$ 17,7 million in 2012. This figure represents an 80 percent increase compared to the precious year (US$ 9.8 million). Meanwhile, the local exports to this Asian market totalized US$ 6.9 million in 2010 and US$ 4.0 million in 2009. Pacific Star, Camanchaca, Acuimag, Los Fiordos, Invertec, Ventisqueros and AquaChile are among the Chilean salmon companies with significant sales in Taiwan last year.
