Salmon exports to China increased by 39%
Besides, according to a report published by the Export Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ProChile), in the last year salmon (Atlantic and Coho) and trout represented a 10.80% of the total non-traditional products shipped to that asian country.
Likewise, among the 20 Chilean companies with highest non-traditional exports to China there are 6 salmon producer firms: Multiexport; AquaChile; Trusal; Mainstream Chile; Camanchaca; and Los Fiordos.
The non-traditional products are everyone but copper, fish meal, cellulose, iron, saltpeter, metallic plate, oxide and ferromolybdenum, gold minerals, some wood products and methyl alcohol.
