Salmon exports increased by 52% up to September
According to the monthly report of external trade published by the National Customs Service, in the case of salmon (Atlantic and Coho) this increase is explained by a strong rise in volume (53 000 extra tonnes) added to an increased declared price (+14%) within the same period.
Regarding Rainbow trout, exports increased 31% due to a higher declared price (+16%) accompanied by an increased exported volume (12 000 extra tonnes).
Japan was the largest market for trout, concentrating 60% of the exports, while USA was the largest market for salmon (36%) followed by Japan and Brazil, with a 24% and 15% share respectively.
