Salmon companies demonstrate solidarity for volcano refugees
Empresas AquaChile, Salmones Los Fiordos, and Trusal are the first companies within the industry to initiate humanitarian aid for the volcano refugees distributed throughout the Lakes Region, principally in Puerto Montt and the island of Chiloé. The companies have donated and distributed a total of 2,000 kilos of salmon to the various makeshift shelters throughout the Region, principally municipal gymnasiums and public schools (of which have cancelled classes until further notice), to help feed over 4,000 displaced people from the region of Chaitén.
