Roe imports down by a third

Christian Pérez According to a report recently published by the National Fisheries Service (Sernapesca), Chile imported 19.20 million rainbow trout eggs in the first ten months of this year, which represent a 23 per cent decrease compared to the 24.95 million eggs imported in the same period of the previous year. Likewise, the country imported 13.52 million Atlantic salmon eggs up to October 2014, representing a 45.7 per cent decrease compared to the 24.9 million eggs imported in the same months of 2013.   The Atlantic salmon roe imports came from Iceland, while the rainbow trout roe imports came from Denmark in the first ten months of this year, just like in 2013.
