Reduction in vaccine sales to Atlantic salmon
According to figures from Pharmaq this development was not unexpected as a consequence of the extensive vaccination taking place in the fourth quarter 2011. As a preliminary assumption, 16 million vaccine doses in September 2011 were administered to the S1-2012 (source: Kontali Analysis). This leaves a total number of doses for S1-2012 per January close to 133 million compared to 119 million vaccine doses to S1-2011 in the same period. The vaccination of the S1s´ is expected to be finished by end of May. The final release of S1s´-2011 ended at 154 million smolt.The sales of ISA vaccines in January were nearly 1 milliion doses compared to 2.3 million doses in January 2011. The turnover of PD-vaccines this month was stable at 5.1 million doses compared to 5.8 million doses in January 2011.The extent of vaccination of rainbow trout has been seen on a stable level since autumn 2010. Over the last twelve months approximately 23 million doses, divided by 18 million doses of oil based vaccines and 5 million doses of a water based vibriosis vaccine, have been ordered. Regarding farmed cod the twelve months´ trend is 2.6 million doses including 110.000 doses sold in January 2012.
