Record salmon prices
According to the local newspaper El Llanquihue, last week the frozen portions experienced a 7.8% increase in its price up to USD 6.25 per pound in Miami, FL. Likewise, the frozen fillets also experienced a strong increase (3%) in their price, which reached an average of USD 5.65 per pound.
Meanwhile, during the same week, in Japan the frozen trout price oscillated between ¥ 650 - 680 (USD 7.13 - 7.46) per kg. depending on its size, with a variation of 7.9%, representing the highest price since the beginnings of 2008.
