Record for salmon export

Figures from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) shows an increase in value of 26 percent from the previous year. Main reason for this is an increased demand for salmon on the world market combined with lower supply. The price of fres Atlantic salmon increased by 14 percent in May 2010 compared with May 2009.

Russia is the market with strongest growth. An increase in export value by 51 percent in May 2010, an an increase in volume by 40 percent.
