Record-breaking feed contract
Skretting, the world's leading fish feed producer has agreed a two-year salmon feed supply contract with Marine Harvest, the largest producer of farmed salmon in the world. This new agreement, effective from 1 May 2008, involves the supply of approximately 70% of the total requirements of Marine Harvest in the coming two years. Marine Harvests estimates the harvesting volume to 320 000 tons (HOG) in 2008. Adjusted for gut, feed convertion rate the the contract is estimated to a total volume of 700 000 tons. An average price per kilo fees is estimated to 7 NOK. In total the contract value is estimated to 5 billion NOK (1 bn. UDS).
