The Seventh International Conference on Recirculating Aquaculture is being held at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center on Roanoke, Virginia on July 25-27, 2008. The conference is designed for individuals in industry, government, or academia who are involved with recirculating aquaculture, according to the Virginia Tech web site.

According to the organizers, The Recirculating Aquaculture conference continues to feature presentations and poster sessions from leading experts in recirculating aquaculture-in total, well over 80 papers will be showcased during the event. Ample time is allotted during all sessions for questions and free discussion. To date, nearly 2,000 people from more than 30 countries worldwide have attended our conferences and also know first hand about our trade show, where buyers and sellers can discuss problems and solutions in a comfortable, unhurried atmosphere.

Equipment manufacturers, company representatives, producers, researchers, regulators, investors, and others gather in the trade show area to chat further with symposium organizers and presenters, and to discuss the challenges and breakthroughs in recirculating aquaculture. The 2008 conference continues to promote these informal learning opportunities. An optional tour of the Shepherdstown, West Virginia Fresh Water Institute is available to conference registrants for an extra fee and separate registration.
