Puchi forecasts a 66% decrease on 2010 harvests

According to Diario Financiero, the most well known Chilean salmon businessman added that if the authority doesn't increase the Appropriate Aquaculture Areas (AAA) it will be impossible for the Chilean salmon industry to take up again the production levels (700,000 tons) prior to the ISA virus crisis.
"If we want to produce in a sustainable way we'll have to settle for 500,000 tons" he said referring to the current conditions. However, he detailed that the industry will remain profitable and is going to surpass the sanitary and productive crisis, regaining its confidence.
Likewise, he criticized the populism of some politicians that have delayed the enactment of the new fisheries regulation.
