Prices could start recovering in Q1 2012
This recovery in price would be result of a revival in demand due to the transference of lower prices from retailers and brokers to the final consumer, something that would be already happening in the last quarter of 2011.
Regarding salmon production, Multiexport says that Chile is expected to produce around 550 000 – 600 000 tonnes of salmonids this year. Meanwhile, the company expects to contribute with around 33 000 tonnes in that annual result.
Finally, the company will enter around 13 million smolts of Atlantic salmon to the sea this year and 3 million smolts of Rainbow trout.
