Price peak reached
"It is expected that prices have peaked for now," broker Piotr Ciesielski Wingaard from Fish Pool told Finansavisen. In one month, the average price of salmon has increased by 10 NOK per kilo, and peaked last week at an average of just below 42 NOK/kg.
He expects prices to remain stable this week. The reason for a stronger rise than expected, according to the broker, is that demand has been stronger and the euro has strengthened, giving better purchasing power to customers in the eurozone.
