According to the financial journal Diario Financiero, the president of Pfizer Animal Health (PAH), Juan Ramon Alaix, met the CEO of AquaChile, Victor Hugo Puchi, three weeks ago to start the talks for possible partnerships for development of preventive vaccines for salmon.

Regarding this alliance, Puchi said that it is an opportunity to actively participate in the development of new medicines. Meanwhile, Alaix added that although the company is interested in the development of vaccines for the global salmon industry, they want to bet on the development of drugs for the specific needs of a particular country or producer.

Likewise, Claudio Rojas was designated as leader of the Aquaculture Project of PAH, who is already working on a preventive vaccine for the virus ISA and sea lice.
