Pesquera Landes will start producing this year
The general manager of the company, Eduardo Bohorodzaner, explained to the financial journal Estrategia that Pesquera Landes will foster its three aquaculture concessions this year which are located nearby Melinka (11th Region) and were acquired to Providencia Fish Farms in 2009.
“We will perform our first sowing on April 2010 and we expect to harvest by the middle of 2011 2,500 tonnes of Rainbow trout, salmonid specie resistant to ISA virus in contrast to Atlantic salmon, with which we are going to start operations in 2011” he detailed.
This developing plan means an investment of USD 15 million. As of today, Pesquera Landes is a major player in the local fishing industry.
