One ISA outbreak in Chile
According to Sernapesca, the company affected with an outbreak (Acuimag) has to get rid of those infected fish in pursuance of the biosecurity measures established by the Authority. In order to do so, Acuimag could harvest or eliminate those cages. In the first case, the company has 15 days to harvest; while in the second case, that deadline is of 7 days. Whatever the procedure decided, Sernapesca will oversee its accomplishment.
Besides, Sernapesca describes 13 suspect sites of HPR0 (avirulent strain) mainly located in the 11th Region, pertaining to the salmon producing companies Cupquelán, Australis Mar, Mainstream, Pesquera Los Fiordos, AquaChile, Acuimag, Salmones Itata and Aquagen.
Moreover, there is one site positive to ISA virus according to the screening analysis performed to facilities farming broodstock.
Likewise, the report details that there are two sites under sanitary fallow (which were previously outbreaks or suspect sites but are currently without fish); and no sites in category of risk (without presence or manifestation of clinical disease but located within an infected area).
