Prior to this he was 12 years as part of Stirling’s NERC Unit of Aquatic Biochemistry and his research has given new understanding of biochemistry and nutrition of fish, particularly salmonids; defined the importance of seafood intake in human nutrition – particularly with respect to neurodevelopmental disorders and Omega 3 fatty acids; and he has worked on the replacement of dietary fish oil and meal with plant-based alternatives.

There were also presentations on behalf of Marine Harvest and Biomar – where Davy Corrigan and Paddy Campbell highlighted their many successful collaborations with the Nutrition Group over the years.
