No ISA outbreaks in Chile

According to the local newspaper El Llanquihue, the general manager of the Chilean Salmon Industry Association (SalmonChile) Carlos Odebret said that “this is good news, which represents the result of a series of measures, regulatory and practical modifications that have been changed over this period”.

Odebret appeared pleased with this situation but showed some cautiousness “this is biology and we have to be constant, because the productive cycle lasts 18 months and we have to wait until this cycle is closed and open a new one. Clearly, we are satisfied [with these figures] but this sensation will only be completed when we have constant production levels with the same sanitary situation as today. We are towards the right direction, but we have to keep working on it” he concluded.
