The smolt production facility will have a first step capacity of 7,5 million smolts up to 150 grams, an investment calculated to 200 mill. NOK. And it will employs 10-15 people.

According to a message from the company, this new facility will be build in concrete, with special focus on recirculation and low energy consumption. It will also be equipped with high security against escaping.

The benefits from producing bigger smolts are many, amongst them shorter period in sea and reduced risk for sea lice and diseases.
