New markets for Irish company
The award winning product, selling under the ‘Something Fishy’ brand, combines shellfish protein with Irish butter, seaweed and seasoning to produce an ‘umami’ or savoury taste.
IASC have applied for a patent on the process of producing the butter and are the only company to produce the product globally. This product was also recognised at the World Food Innovation Awards, held in London in March, when the shellfish butter won the award for best new condiment, the Irish Farmer Journal reports.
ASC are planning to expand their current distribution from Ireland and the UK this year into the USA, Europe and Asia. It is also in the process of filling its first order for Malaysia. The company will also launch a further 20 products over the next 3 to 5 years, in Retail, Food Service and B2B channels.
