According to Sernapesca, the affected company (Acuimag) has to get rid of those infected fish in pursuance of the biosecurity measures established by the Authority. In order to do so, Acuimag could harvest or eliminate those cages. In the first case, the company has 15 days to harvest; while in the second case, that deadline is of 7 days. Whatever the procedure decided, Sernapesca will oversee its accomplishment.

This detection happened during an inspection to the farming site Bahía Perales performed by Sernapesca last Tuesday, when clinical disease manifestation of ISA virus was found among mortalities.

Currently, there are 10 active farming sites in the 12th Region; eight of them farm Atlantic salmon while the other two sites produce Rainbow trout.
