New chapter for MH Scotland
The multi-million pound 200,000 sq ft facility, which is located in the Fife town of Rosyth, will employ up to 150 people when it becomes fully operational.
Since being tken over by Marine Harvest it had purely been used for primary processing in the run-up to Christmas, but is now producing Harbour Salmon Co-branded products.
Andy Stapley, managing director of Marine Harvest VAP UK, told the Dunfermline Press: “We’ve been hard at work equipping the factory and recruiting staff and we’re delighted to be producing our first finished product. This not just a milestone for the company, but also for the salmon farming industry as Marine Harvest brings to the market the whole process from farm to fork which has not been the case until now.
“It’s great news for the company and also great news for the local economy which will benefit from new jobs across a range of disciplines.”
