New chairs for Scotland Food & Drink
The appointments were confirmed at the organisation's Board meeting ealier this month.
Both individuals have been on the Scotland Food & Drink Board since the organisation's inception in 2007, with David having served as Vice Chairman since then. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Kilshaw said: "I am delighted to be taking on the Chairmanship of Scotland Food & Drink. In particular, I am pleased to continue working in partnership with Dennis as Vice Chair; he has also played a central role in the development of Scotland Food & Drink over the last seven years. "We are moving into a very exciting new phase for Scotland Food & Drink. The organisation has come a long way since its establishment in 2007. We have achieved many of our original ambitions, in particular by forging a ground-breaking partnership between the key industry bodies, the Scottish Government and its agencies in Scotland. The commitment of those bodies to the Scotland Food & Drink partnership has forged a new culture of collaboration which has seen food and drink become the best-performing sector of Scotland's economy. "However, whilst progress has been immense, there is much still to do. The Scotland Food & Drink export strategy is now rolling out with a new UK market strategy heading for launch next spring. On top of that, Scotland Food & Drink continues to develop as a membership organisation, supporting the growth of its 350 company members. So, as we move in to 2015 - Scotland's Year of Food and Drink - there is much to be excited about."
