Morne to focus on feed

Moren will carry out research, development and innovation projects along the complete chain of value in aquaculture, with a special focus on research into new feed raw materials, feed technology and questions related to nutrition.

“Nutrition and feed technology are two fields within aquaculture that undergo continual development, in order to keep pace with new species, raw materials and forms of production. I expect to be able to contribute in my new post to research and development in these fields becoming even more focused on the future,” says Moren.

“I am looking forward to getting involved in the work that Nofima is already carrying out for the aquaculture industry.”

Mari Moren was most recently employed as Research Director at the National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research (NIFES). She has a professor’s title in fish nutrition and has worked in particular with minerals and vitamins during the early stages of life. She has experience also with alternative feed raw materials.

Two of Moren’s roles at Nofima will be to lead and follow up scientific and economic development, and to contribute to identifying and developing new marketing opportunities. She will also have overall responsibility for a group of 25 highly knowledgeable and dedicated scientists employed in Norway and will be located at the company’s premises in Bergen.
