Nolan Seafoods typically processes 65 tonnes of salmon fillets and 25 tonnes of salmon portions a month, but – according to the BBC – the company is in talks with its employees over redundancies, due to "volatility" in the marketplace, a drop in supply of salmon and the high cost of doing business in Aberdeen.

The firm, which has operated out of Aberdeen since 2002, employs more than 230 staff at its premises in the West Tullos Industrial Estate. It also produces over 50 tonnes of white fish fillets a week.
