The high-end salmon farming company is one of five firms to be named in the Scotland & Northern Ireland section of the Regional Growth Business category of the Food and Drink Federations Awards. It is up against Mash Direct of County Down, Northern Ireland; Nairn's Oatcakes, Edinburgh; Robertson's Fine Foods, of Ardrossan, Ayrshire; and Willowbrook Foods, of Killinchy, County Down.

The company will find out if it has been successful in one or both of the categories at the awards ceremony on Thursday, 21 September at The Brewery in London.

Loch Duart is also in the final of the FDF's Exporter of the Year category, a UK-wide award, and is one of three companies short-listed in the export category of the Highlands and Islands Food & Drink Awards in October. The Scottish Salmon Company and Keith Brewery are the other contenders.

'Great honour for Loch Duart'

Scourie-based Loch Duart has already won the Food and Drink Company of the Year at Scottish Business Insider’s Made in Scotland Awards in April, and the Foodservice Product of the Year award at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards in May.

Managing director Alban Denton said: “Being shortlisted for the Regional Growth Business in the Scotland and Northern Ireland category as well as Exporter of the Year is a great honour for Loch Duart. Our entire team are passionate about our brand values of quality, innovation and sustainability.

"At Loch Duart we want to create a loyal customer base prepared to pay a little bit more for our extraordinary tasting salmon. We are very much looking forward to the awards event in September.”
