Marine Harvest is one of the world’s largest salmon producers, accounting for over 30% of global demand. A fully-integrated business with manufacturing facilities across Europe, Marine Harvest has recently made considerable investment in the UK with a state of the art manufacturing facility in Rosyth (near Edinburgh). This vacancy offers the right person an excellent opportunity to be part of a team at our superb facility with world class products.
Marine Harvest is a fast-paced, quality, exciting organisation with a genuinely unique offering in the UK – and we currently have a truly exceptional opportunity for the right individual.
We are seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to join our business and lead the delivery of improvement projects within the production site.
In this role, you will support business operations through:
the collection, reporting and analysis of data relating to production outputs;
using information generated to recommend, develop and implement improvement initiatives which are aligned to business goals (with a particular focus on waste reduction, cost reduction /value creation and yield increase);
creating, planning and managing projects, prioritising efficient and effective performance in production (including adherence to our 5S standards), quality, health and safety, and service targets.
In order to embed and sustain these improvements, you’ll develop and deliver training; and lead by example – you will embody our values as you support, coach and develop our people, managing performance standards with professionalism and respect. You’ll be an expert at influencing and challenging in a positive way; and you’ll bring that positivity when demonstrating your capabilities in a role with ever-changing demands.
As well as being a great people manager, you will have excellent IT skills, and will be comfortable using systems and data to generate accurate management information on which to base your recommendations for improvements. You’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse performance trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
We’re looking for a “can do” attitude – we’re passionate in our belief that we’re all part of the same team, so you’ll have a track record of working constructively with other functions of the business (NPD, Planning, HR etc), enabling the delivery of their commitments as well as your own priorities.
We do expect hard work and commitment – you must perform well under pressure, deliver to deadlines and never, ever let standards slide; but in return we offer a competitive reward package, a great place to work, and an opportunity to progress your career in a global, well-respected organisation.
