Marine Harvest has recently purchased a marine recirculation fish farm formerly owned by Anglesey Aquaculture Ltd (AAL), at Black Point, Penmon, Anglesey, in North West Wales. This facility will be developed over the next year into a state of the art cleaner fish hatchery. The facility will aim to produce Ballan Wrasse juveniles as a sustainable cleaner fish that will then be deployed into the company’s salmon farms. Over the next year we are looking to recruit and build up a highly skilled and dedicated team.
We are now looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated Hatchery Manager for our Wrasse site at Black Point in Anglesey. The successful candidate will have experience in managing a large scale re-circulation facility in a commercial environment.
The position will have overall responsibility for the site and the staff. It is envisaged that there will be a small team of around 12 staff. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure efficient production systems are developed and that a sustainable production cost is maintained. The candidate should be able to supervise and coach staff, develop safety protocols and safe working environment. Good leadership and the ability to motivate and develop teams are essential.
The position will be based at Anglesey and the successful candidate would be expected to develop and be included on an on-call and weekend rota. The candidate should be qualified to a degree level in Aquaculture and/or have 5 years or more managerial experience.
