Salmon spot price continues fall after May peak

The spot price for Norwegian salmon fell for the fourth week in a row last week, dropping NOK 1.03 per kilo to 55.30 (£4.71) in week 23. The price was NOK 12.91 per kilo lower than in week 23 last year.

The average price per kilo so far this year is NOK 52.27 per kilo, more than NOK 10 per kilo lower than the NOK 62.68 average in the first 23 weeks of 2020.

Norway exported 25,521 tonnes round weight of salmon in week 22, 8% more than in the same week last year. So far this year, 555,000 tonnes of salmon have been exported, 17% more than at the same time last year.
