Chile: The Chilean Trim-D salmon fillet C+F* Miami (FL), USA, was traded at an average price of US$ 5.58 per pound during week 19 this year. This is a significant increase compared to the previous week and the eighth week in a row with a price over US$ 5 per pound in the US.

The average price of US$ 5.58 per pound (US$ 12.30/kg) in the week 19/2016 represents a 4.1 per cent or 22 cents increase compared to the price seen in the previous week. It is also 50 per cent higher than the price observed in the same week of 2015 (US$ 3.72). Likewise, it is 3.3 per cent over that one seen in the same week of 2014 (US$ 5.40).

The highest price in the past five years was US$ 5.61 per pound and corresponds to the week 24 in 2013. The price registered last week is the second highest in the period.

According to the weekly report published by SalmonEx, the Brazilian market price observed a US$ 0.03 increase. The size 10-12lb (4.5-5.4kg), being the most representative, marked US$ 7.70/kg.

In the Japanese market, the price of frozen HG trout and HG Coho salmon remained unchanged. The first marked ¥ 735 (US$ 6.72)/kg, while the second species marked ¥ 645 (US$ 5.90)/kg.
