“The market for salmon and fjord trout is growing in the United States, and the innovative partnership with ULTCO will provide Seaborn unique access and opportunities to remain close to these positive developments,” said Chief Operating Officer Frank Yri.

In addition to fresh and frozen value-added products, the partner companies plan to launch ultra-low temperature salmon and fjord trout to target the growing sushi and refresh markets in North America. The partnership is also developing organically-raised halibut from Seaborn farmers.

The newly formed ULTCO is a specialty seafood platform focused on responsibly ocean raised and wild harvested species. ULTCO’s leadership team brings more than 50 years of experience in the American seafood industry to the venture.

Seaborn AS was founded in 2001 by a group of family-owned salmon and fjord trout farms led by experienced farmers with a long-standing tradition of fish farming dating back generations. The company represents the whole value chain from broodstock and roe, via hatching, fry and smolt to marine growers of the highest quality. Seaborn’s operations are certified by the Global Partnership for Good Agricultural Practice (Global GAP).
