The winners in the 11 other categories will be chosen by a judging panel but the People’s Choice winner is picked by the aquaculture industry public.

Those wishing to vote must do so before 8pm tomorrow and can cast their vote here.

The winner will be announced at the Scottish Marine Aquaculture Awards presentation on Wednesday. The revived awards, last run by the Crown Estate in 2015 and now taken on by 5m Publishing, reflect the diversity of the UK aquaculture industry and present an opportunity to recognise individuals, companies or organisations that have made the most significant contribution to the UK’s aquaculture industry over the last two years.

The awards are part of the Aquaculture UK 2018 exhibition and conference taking place this week at Aviemore. It is the biggest-yet edition of the event, with 1,800 registered visitors and 190 exhibitors.

Event organiser Matt Colvan said: “We’re counting down to opening our doors to the biggest Aquaculture UK on record this year.

“The stands are being constructed as we speak, and we look forward to welcoming exhibitors from far and wide to showcase the newest research, technologies and innovation.”

Aquaculture UK 2018 will be officially opened by Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing on Wednesday morning.
