During the visit, organised to mark 100 years of diplomatic relations between the countries, Nesvik will meet his Chilean counterpart, the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Eduardo Riquelme.

Chile is the second largest producer of salmon in the world after Norway, and Norway is the largest foreign player in Chile in aquaculture and fisheries.

“Nearly 60 Norwegian companies have been established in the country and the opportunities for the Norwegian supplier industry are still great,” said Nesvik.

The visit will take place from March 26 to 31. Nesvik will also visit Brazil from April 2 to 4.
