Norway salmon price drops but stays above NOK 90

There was a modest drop in the spot price of Norwegian farmed salmon last week after its record jump to a record level the week before.

According to sector statistic provider Akvafakta, the spot price for salmon decreased last week (week 8) by NOK 1.88 to NOK 90.41 (£7.62) per kilo. This is NOK 36.21 more than the spot price in the same week last year.

The average price so far this year is NOK 76.81 / kg against NOK 46.35 / kg at the same time in 2021.

Norway exported 25,899 tonnes (round weight) in week 8. This is 1.5% more than the same week last year. So far this year, Norway has exported 209,000 tonnes of salmon, a volume 3.7% lower than in the corresponding period a year ago.
