The division has more than 40 licences, according Fish Farming Expert's sister site in Chile, Salmon Expert.

Due to a large growth potential it is estimated that the value of the farming operation is around US$200m.

The company has over 30 years' experience in salmon farming, producing more than 20,000 tonnes a year. With the licences it owns, the division has the potential to produce more than 80,000 tonnes annually.

The Del Rio family that owns Friosur is selling the division to concentrate more on the fisheries sector.
