B.C. Salmon Farmers Association rejoins ISFA

Published Last updated

B.C. joins salmon farming associations in New Brunswick, Norway, Chile, Scotland, Ireland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and the State of Maine by participating in the activities of ISFA. The Tasmanian Salmonid Growers Association has also expressed an interest in joining ISFA. ISFA has developed a International Guidelines on Containment of Farmed Salmon through a Liaison Group established with the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organisation (NASCO). ISFA and its members reject the use of transgenic salmon or hormones in fish destined for human consumption. ISFA and NASCO want to join forces for the conservation of wild Atlantic salmon.
